WICCI and BLBA Host Global Dialogue on Women’s Leadership for International Women’s Day 2026

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 (#IWD2026), the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) UP HR Council, in collaboration with the Belgium Luxembourg Business Association (BLBA), hosted a virtual panel discussion titled “Leading Across Borders.” The event, held on 7 March 2026, brought together global leaders and experts to discuss the evolving role of women in international leadership, cross-border collaboration, and inclusive global partnerships.

The event was covered by She Business Time, a leading women’s business media platform committed to highlighting stories of leadership, entrepreneurship, and gender equality across the world.

The distinguished panel featured Ignace Hindrick, President of BLBA New Delhi; Dr. Nidhi Piplani-Kapur, Head of the Symbiosis Centre for European Studies at Symbiosis Centre for International Education; Sqn Ldr. Dimple Rawat (Retd.), Senior Director HR and Head HR at Barco; and Shaifaly Sangal, State President of WICCI UP HR Council and Founder of Yung Minds, Bhavishya, and Woman With Wings.

The session was moderated by Shefali Sewak, Vice-President of BLBA, who guided the discussion around the challenges and opportunities women face in global leadership roles. The program was efficiently coordinated by Shrimi Singh and Pritika Singh, ensuring a seamless and engaging dialogue.

The session opened with an introduction to BLBA and WICCI, setting the tone for a conversation focused on building international bridges and strengthening leadership networks across continents.

During the panel, speakers shared valuable insights on building trust in global partnerships, navigating cultural diversity, and leveraging collaboration to create impactful leadership across borders. A key theme that emerged was the importance of trust, empathy, and cultural intelligence when working with global stakeholders.

Panelists highlighted that successful international partnerships are built on mutual respect, open communication, and long-term relationship building. They also emphasized that women leaders often bring unique strengths to global leadership—including empathy, collaboration, and inclusive decision-making—which are increasingly essential in today’s interconnected world.

Another important aspect of the discussion focused on the challenges women entrepreneurs and professionals face while expanding their presence internationally. The panel stressed the importance of strong professional networks, mentorship, and supportive ecosystems to help women scale their leadership impact globally.

The conversation also touched upon how digital platforms and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), are enabling new forms of global collaboration and knowledge exchange, empowering women leaders to build influence beyond geographical boundaries.

Speakers encouraged young professionals and aspiring global leaders to remain curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning, highlighting that global leadership today requires both cultural awareness and strategic collaboration.

As the session concluded, each panelist shared key advice for women aspiring to lead internationally, reinforcing the message that leadership in the modern world transcends borders and thrives on partnership, innovation, and shared purpose.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shaifaly Sangal, who acknowledged the collaborative efforts of WICCI and BLBA and expressed appreciation to the speakers, moderator, and organizing team for creating a meaningful platform for dialogue.

Through initiatives such as “Leading Across Borders,” WICCI and BLBA continue to strengthen global connections, promote knowledge exchange, and support women leaders in creating meaningful impact across industries and nations.

As highlighted by She Business Time, conversations like these are essential in shaping a future where women’s leadership, global collaboration, and technology-driven innovation—including AI—play a central role in building a more inclusive and equitable global economy.
