Drishti Medhi: Reimagining Northeast India as a Global Gateway

In an era where entrepreneurship is increasingly measured by impact rather than scale alone, Drishti Medhi stands out as a leader transforming economic narratives, creating opportunities, and positioning Northeast India on the global map.

An entrepreneur, trade advocate, and ecosystem builder, Drishti has dedicated her career to unlocking the immense potential of one of the world's most strategically located yet often overlooked regions. Through her work across employment generation, international trade, and policy advocacy, she is building bridges between local communities and global markets.

As Co-Founder of QuickGhy, Partner at ADGA EXIM, and Director of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI), Drishti's mission extends far beyond business success. She is helping shape an economic future where inclusion, connectivity, and regional prosperity become powerful drivers of sustainable growth.

Creating Economic Access Through Innovation

Drishti's entrepreneurial journey began with a simple but urgent challenge: the lack of structured employment opportunities for blue-collar workers across Northeast India.

In 2019, she co-founded QuickGhy, a platform designed to connect workers with verified employment opportunities while supporting skill development and workforce readiness. Built with a deep understanding of local realities, QuickGhy leverages trust-based networks to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers, helping thousands access pathways to economic independence.

By formalizing employment access in underserved markets, Drishti is contributing to a more inclusive economy where opportunity reaches communities often left behind by traditional systems.

Connecting Local Producers to Global Markets

Recognizing the extraordinary agricultural richness of Northeast India, Drishti expanded her vision through ADGA EXIM, a venture focused on bringing the region's unique products to international buyers.

From Assam's celebrated teas to Meghalaya's renowned King Chilli and other premium agricultural products, the Northeast possesses immense export potential. Through strategic market linkages and export infrastructure, ADGA EXIM enables farmers and producers to participate more effectively in global value chains, ensuring greater visibility and economic returns.

Her work demonstrates how entrepreneurship can become a catalyst for regional development, empowering local producers while strengthening international trade relationships.

Influencing Policy and Regional Connectivity

As Director of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Drishti operates at the intersection of business and policy. Her efforts focus on strengthening bilateral trade relations, improving infrastructure, and advocating for smoother cross-border commerce between India and Bangladesh.

At a time when regional cooperation is increasingly important for economic growth, she champions the role of Northeast India as a vital gateway connecting South Asia with Southeast Asian markets.

Her leadership reflects a broader vision: transforming geographic proximity into economic opportunity and ensuring that regional development remains central to global trade conversations.

Global Recognition for Regional Leadership

Drishti's work has earned recognition on some of the world's most influential platforms.

In 2026, she became the first woman entrepreneur from Northeast India selected to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos as part of the prestigious Davos 40 Delegates cohort—an achievement that brought international attention to the region's emerging entrepreneurial ecosystem.

As a Vital Voices Fellow, she joins a global network of women leaders committed to advancing economic empowerment and social impact. Her accomplishments have also been recognized through honors including:

• First Woman Entrepreneur from Northeast India at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Davos 2026

• Davos 40 Delegate

• Vital Voices Fellow

• Top 3 Women Entrepreneurs of Northeast India – Recognized by the U.S. Consulate General

• Top 5 Innovators in India – Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment

• Bir Chilarai Awardee – Government of Assam

These milestones reflect not only personal achievement but also the growing global relevance of the work being undertaken in Northeast India.

A Leader Changing the Narrative

For Drishti, entrepreneurship is about far more than creating enterprises. It is about creating belief—belief in people, in communities, and in the possibilities that emerge when regions are empowered to define their own future.

She challenges long-standing perceptions of Northeast India by showcasing its strengths: its rich biodiversity, entrepreneurial talent, cultural diversity, and strategic location at the crossroads of international trade.

Every job created, every export enabled, and every policy barrier reduced contributes to a larger transformation—one that positions the region as an engine of innovation and economic growth.

In Her Own Words

"I grew up watching Northeast India be described as remote, as difficult, as insurgency-prone—as everything except what it actually is: one of the most biodiverse, culturally rich, and strategically positioned regions on earth.

I started building because I was tired of waiting for someone else to tell that story commercially.

Every worker QuickGhy connects to a job, every kilogram of produce ADGA EXIM gets to an international buyer, every trade barrier IBCCI helps dismantle—that is the story of this region rewriting its own narrative.

The clarity of purpose I have found in this journey is something I hope more young women discover for themselves. Leadership begins when you decide to become part of the solution."

Why She Matters

Drishti Medhi represents a new generation of global women leaders—visionaries who understand that meaningful change begins locally but can create impact globally.

By connecting workers to opportunities, producers to international markets, and regions to global conversations, she is helping redefine what inclusive economic leadership looks like in the 21st century.

Her story is not only about business. It is about building pathways, reshaping perceptions, and proving that when women lead with purpose, entire regions rise with them.
