Claire Bridgette: Breaking Barriers to Higher Education through Eduqette

Updated: May 6, 2023

Indonesia has made significant progress in expanding access to education in recent years. However, there are still challenges to be addressed, especially concerning the quality of education beyond the primary level. With over 4,000 institutions of higher education, the higher education system in Indonesia is vast and diverse, but the quality of education varies widely.

Claire Bridgette Ivan's journey with Eduqette began with a personal struggle. When she was about to start her 3rd grade in Junior High School, she began looking for a senior high school using search engines. However, she found it difficult to find a platform that provided all the information she needed in one place. She had to jump from one website to another, trying different search terms to get good results. Additionally, she missed many educational events and opportunities as information was only available on individual business pages. These challenges, combined with her own experience highlighting the difficulties faced by students from lower-income families or in rural areas, inspired 15-year-old Claire to ideate Eduqette. Currently, this second-grade student at Yanagawa High School hopes to help 1 million students in Indonesia achieve their life goals through Eduqette's comprehensive platform for higher education opportunities and ecosystems. Eduqette is a directory platform aimed at helping students in Indonesia finds their dream universities and scholarships to achieve their career goals. The platform provides information on higher education opportunities and ecosystems, supporting students in finding scholarships, and dream universities, and showcasing their academic and professional accomplishments. Eduqette's mission is to support 1 million students in Indonesia to achieve their career goals, whether locally or abroad.

One of the innovations that Eduqette brings to the table is the technology to connect students with universities and scholarships. Through this platform, students can get personalized recommendations based on the individual's interests, academic achievements, and career goals. She designed it to make the search process easier and more efficient.

Starting Eduqette wasn't without its challenges. As a young entrepreneur, Claire had to overcome various obstacles, such as technical skills, funding, and creating a team of skilled individuals who share the same vision. However, she was fortunate to have the support of her family, especially her mom and friends who would like to join as an intern, and the opportunity to collaborate with various organizations that share the same mission as Eduqette.

Overall, Eduqette is Claire's passion project and her way of contributing to the development of education in Indonesia. As a young entrepreneur, Claire is proud to be part of a growing community of individuals who are using their skills and passion to create positive change in their country and beyond. With Eduqette, she hopes to help millions of students achieve their dreams and become the future leaders of Indonesia.
