NORTHEAST FILM FESTIVAL 2023 (NEFF): Mahima Chaudhry to Randeep Hooda many B-Town celebrities graced

3-day NORTHEAST FILM FESTIVAL 2023 (NEFF) held at NFDC Campus, Mumbai.


The festival took place on 24th - 26th March, It is an Initiative by NFDC & Find Studio to encourage content creators from the North Eastern (NE) States of India. The festival is being organized in Mumbai to provide maximum exposure to the creative talents of the North-Eastern States to the mainstream Industry.


NEFF 2023 featured excellent films, short films, and documentaries from various sectors of Northeast India. The event was attended by the film personalities like Mahima Chaudhry, Randeep Hooda, Gulshan Grover, Padmini Kolhapure, Mukesh Chabbra, Ashok Pandit

Abhinav Kashyap, Poonam Dhillon, Pooja Sharma, Yash Pal Sharma, and many others.


Mr. Amstrong Pame, Director I&B, Govt of India addressed the audience and appealed to people to come and make films in the states of Northeast. Films which were shown on 3 days are :


First Day:

Second day:

  • Saga Dawa (A Close Watch),

  • Sound from the Hallow Bamboo

Third day :

  • Mizo Soundscapes

  • My name is Eeoow

  • Mojoli

  • Bohag Bohag Mon

  • Lembi Leica


The festival aims to work towards the supporting and promoting of films across genres, cultures, and languages of the North Eastern Region with a vision of connecting the creative talents of the region to the mainstream industry and promoting the North East both in terms of scenic geographical beauty and content.


Filmmakers from Bollywood & Northeast India attended the film festival, and the NEFF received positive feedback in terms of film and documentary participation. The film festival witnessed a strong response from the northeastern states, with filmmakers from Manipur, Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and other northeastern states.
